Shafiqe Badril began his life and education when his family migrated abroad to London, U.K. where he continued to further his education in The United States of America, Tennessee, St. Louis, Missouri, Virginia, and Maryland. To cope with the constant pressure of relocating, Shafiqe garnered an interest in education and books, much like his grandfather, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr Haji Yahaya Ibrahim. He had a specific interest in Finance and taught himself everything there was to know. At the young age of fifteen, Shafiqe bought his first stock with the Citibank group and thus began Shafiqe’s early venture in entrepreneurship and investment.
Shafiqe returned to Malaysia after completing his tertiary education to join Yahaya Ibrahim Educational Services Sdn Bhd, a company that was founded by his grandfather. He then became the member of the Board of Directors in 2012 and established Yahaya Ibrahim Holdings Group and is now the President and Group CEO. Since his tenure, Shafiqe has expanded the business from education
and ventured into tourism, logistics, property management, financial development and business efficiency.
As grand-nephew of the late Mr Ahmad Ibrahim, a member of the First Cabinet of Singapore, handpicked by Lee Kuan Yew himself as the Minister of Health, Labour and Assistant Secretary-General of the People’s Action Party Central Executive Committee, Shafiqe’s family and lineage has provided him the network to strong government establishments as well as the experience to ensure success of his new ventures.
